It's official: Lee Thompson, better known to the world as Honey Boo Boo's beloved " Uncle Poodle," is engaged!

Thompson popped the question to his boyfriend, Alan, over the weekend and shared the good news on both Twitter and Facebook.

This will reportedly be Thompson's second marriage. The news also comes one week after June "Mama June" Shannon and Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, Honey Boo Boo's parents, announced plans to split.

Thompson, who has appeared on TLC's " Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," explained to the Georgia Voice how his niece Alana, or "Honey Boo Boo," came up with the now-famous "Poodle" nickname in 2012.

"We were at practice one day, getting ready for a pageant. Her coach was talking about her gay friends, and she said, 'I love all my poodles,'" he told the Georgia Voice at the time. "Alana thought she was really talking about dogs. She wanted to know how many poodles she had, and what were their names. And I said, ' No, Alana, she's talking about gay people.' Well, that did it. All gay people are poodles to her now, and I'm her number one poodle."
