I Wanna Be Adorned.

I Wanna Be Adorned.

Not so long back I was lucky enough to be invited to a wonderful lunch hosted by the lovely folk at Etsy UK in order to celebrate the brand and talk to some of the talented suppliers who sell their products on the site.

For those of you not au fait with Etsy, I recommend that you get yourselves acquainted with this awesome site quick sharp. Essentially though it's a site where you can buy (and sell) all things handmade and it is particularly handy for those of you planning a big event like say a wedding for example. That'll be most of you lot reading this then....

From a personal perspective I could wax lyrical all day long about the delights of Etsy. I've bought everything there; from bespoke paper napkins (complete with an oak tree and both my own and the boy's initials) for our engagement party, ironic and satirical prints which I've framed in their tens for the new house, cute cuddlies for newborns, cards for all manner of occasions, decor for hen dos, Christmas decs and even the odd fancy dress accessory.

In fact I love the whole Etsy buying process from start to finish - it's simple to buy, easy to communicate with sellers and then doubly wonderful to receive deliciously wrapped items in the post from all over the world. And they are wrapped with such care and such love that opening the goodies themselves is just as much as a treat as the actual product inside is.

You can see why it was especially lovely then to meet some of the UK team who help to run the site as well as some of the sellers who produce such wonderful products for the rest of us to buy. If you check into Rock My Wedding regularly then you'll know that we like to showcase those Etsy products that have caught the eye of the RMW and RMS Teams from time to time and this afternoon is one of those occasions.

We're feeling a little bit glitzy, a little bit glamorous this afternoon so here's our pick of all those metallic, golden and glittery must-haves that we're currently coveting from the site...

We love the golden sequin hanger at the top here - perfect for those girls looking to stage an oh so sweet photograph of their favourite wedding accessories or treasured family photo on the morning of their wedding day. Plus once the big do is over you can pop it in your wardrobe to hang your favourite party dress on it.

If you're looking for a thank you present for your favourite girls then these golden stacking rings might be just the ticket. Or you could just buy them for yourself...something I'm sorely tempted to do once payday arrives later this month.

Perhaps you're looking for some ideas on how to display your table centrepieces; I adore the porcelain bottles above which are the perfect size for a supersized Peony or Cafe au Lait Dahlia. Set them in rows on shelves around your venue or cluster them together in threes or fives for elegant and simple table centrepieces that will have everyone swooning in delight over.

Sequin tablecloths are still really popular with 2014 brides and beyond. They can be on the pricey side so why not reserve them especially for your dessert or cake table set-ups or choose the uber romantic sweetheart table option for your reception.

Please will one of you lovelies opt for this golden sequin wedding dress for your big day. I have fallen head over heels for it but alas my big day has been and gone so I'd like to live vicariously through one of you instead.

And whilst you're at it you may as well help to set the tone for such a frock with uber luxurious envelopes complete with glittery liner like this silver beauty above. Imagine your guests' faces as they unravel their Save The Dates from such a glamorous package...

One of the best ways to help your wedding budget is to invest in those pieces that double up as wedding day decor that can be used in the home after the big day has been and gone. Are you opting for Scottish nuptials or just a fan of stags in general? Then why not opt for this resin deer head with metallic antlers...they come in all sorts of other colours too! Equally pretty up your wedding seating areas with some sequinned cushions that will undoubtedly jazz up your sofa at home once you've said your 'I Dos'.

I can't leave without sharing some of those smaller touches that will leave an iridescent shine on anyone's wedding day. Be it these fabulously striped golden straws for small kids and big kids alike, touches of metallic tinsel twine for wrapping around bridal party presents, table centrepieces, bouquets or even the wedding cake itself, silver diamond piñatas (perfect for dance floor action) or golden frames for guests to pose with in the photobooth.

So what do you think? Have we given you the nudge to go and explore Etsy for yourselves?

Perhaps you're having a golden day of your own...won't you tell us all about it?

And what's the best thing you've ever bought on Etsy? Which sellers would you recommend us bookmarking?

All my love Lolly xxx
