#160: all that glitters

Morning lovely ones! After a somewhat disappointing weekend (hello British summer!) today I'm pumping up the colour with this bright & breezy inspiration board. Long-time b.loved readers will know I have a bit of a crush on orange weddings, not least because my own wedding back in 2011 featured this love-it-or-hate-it hue! It's not a colour I'd pick often, but with the right setting and the right balance of colours (in this case lashings of gold glitter - you can't go wrong!) this somewhat scary shade can result in a rather gorgeous w-day look. And yes, I do say so myself.

On a hot summer's day welcome guests with a refreshing citrus cocktail, before sitting in the sunshine for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony decorated with warm red, orange and pink blooms. Poppies, proteas, roses and dahlia's are all available in this colour palette - add a few succulents and some silvery green foliage to break up the colour. The trend for sparkle isn't going anywhere soon - so embrace the glitter with golden linens, bridesmaids dresses and details! You don't need a hot Californian desert or African sunshine to make this colour palette work; a late summer's day here in the UK will suffice! Add heaps of fairylights for a warm, romantic glow, then sit back and relax as they do their job transforming your venue into a shimmering, golden masterpiece!
