Aaah, you've just got to love this timeless wedding! You just can't go wrong with an all white colour palette, candlelight and love. In fact if you recreate just one part of this wedding, please make it the candlelight! It makes everything so dreamy & romantic, don't you think? I'm also totally crushing on bride Anel's wedding dress, made especially for her by a local South African designer. This girl has serious style, and teamed up with an equally stylish team of suppliers - including b.loved favourite Yolande Marx Photography - to make her wedding day dreams come to life - simple, romantic and natural.
We met at a friends 30th birthday party, and dated ever since! The proposal was simple but romantic - we were sitting on the porch one evening watching the sunset and he just went down on one knee and asked. Janita Toerien designed and made my beautiful dress. I asked my make up artist to keep my make up natural and pale. That was my idea to just look as natural as possible! My sister (bridesmaid) wore a navy blue lace dress, the groom a navy blue suit and navy blue tie with light brown leather shoes and belt and the groomsmen light grey suits with navy blue ties. We wanted a classic, timeless, raw and festive wedding with natural colours - white, ivory and a hint of yellow and green. We got married at Val de Vie Estate, in the Western Cape. It had the classical feel and the white ballroom had beautiful clean lines that we were looking for. The polo club and wines also made an impression and we wanted to use it during the wedding. It was simply beautiful!
Our florist was simply the best man for the job! We loved Marcel's style and was a pleasure working with him. We wanted to give everybody at the wedding a special gift so me, my mother and mother in law cooked apricot jam and put it in beautiful little jam jars for all the guests. The cake was a classic ivory cream three tier vanilla cream cake. It had a dot pattern in the same colour on the cake with fresh ivory roses on top. We wanted it to be traditional and classic. Simply Beautiful!!! We booked Yolande Marx Photography - she was just a darling when we met up with her at Val de Vie and she made us feel so at ease and comfortable. We knew from the first time we saw her work on the internet that we would love to work with her. Her photos has that soft feel I was looking for. She is very professional, but I could immediately see myself being her friend after the wedding, she is so bubbly and cute and we would recommend Yolande to anyone!***
