Josie and Jonny are just so cute. There are just so many images of the pair looking loved up that it'll make your heart melt. I particularly love the shot of their feet while they are canoodling in the shed!!

They served guests the most scrumptious high tea I've seen for a while too, in the prettiest array of vintage china.

I do love a good teapot and there are some absolute beauties in this wedding.

All of the hanging paper birds and hearts, the jam jar toppers and the little bird place names were made by Josie from pages of books, which creates such a lovely effect.

Josie also put together all of the flowers for the big day and I think you'll agree she did an excellent job - I love her colourful bouquet, which is finished off perfectly with a mustard yellow ribbon.

Josie the Bride:Both Jonny and I wanted a small, informal wedding, so it would be intimate, enjoyable, and less stressful in the planning, but also because we were on a pretty tight budget, and simply couldn't afford to put on a big, extravagant bash. I wanted a garden ceremony, and fairly early on, the registrar from our church generously offered us her garden and grounds to use near Ely, which we were really happy with. Because the UK marriage laws require a marriage to take place in a registered building, we had to legally marry at our church, earlier on in the week of our wedding.

I had my dress made for me when I went back home to Australia for my brother's wedding (five months before my own), by Ann Christou and her team at Rapsimo. They whipped it up in the two weeks before I travelled back to the UK, which was pretty crazy; I'm lucky the dress I chose was a fairly simple design!

It was made of pure ivory silk, cut on the bias, with a small train, and gorgeous lace cutouts stitched on either side of the waist. The style was very 1930s inspired, and possessed a vintage elegance that I loved. I spent so much more than I had planned on the dress, that I was very thrifty with everything else! I wore the freshwater pearl bracelet and metallic wedge sandals I'd worn as a Bridesmaid in my Sister's wedding six years previously, had no veil, and did my own hair and makeup.

I made my own bouquet as well, having only done that sort of thing once before, using two types of roses, white ranunculus, cream eustomas, blue delphiniums, and white phlox. I bound them with florist's tape and book pages, and set it off with mustard ribbon and a pearl brooch.

Jonny wore a patterned shirt from J. Lindeberg, a slim cut dark blue wool blazer by Remus Uomo, his late Grandad's bow tie, a pair of grey-blue Topman chinos, and some brogue boots from Clarks. In keeping with the more laid-back theme of the wedding, we didn't want him in a black suit and looking too formal, so went for a more casual, slightly quirky vintage look.

The ceremony was outside, which was risky, but luckily we were blessed with lovely weather, although it had rained the two days beforehand! We had the chairs set up on the lawn, and strung up bunting made from triangles of hessian and paper doilies that my sister-in-law Christy had made.

I walked down the aisle to Amélie-les-Crayons' 'Si Tu Veux', and during the ceremony, conducted by Jonny's father, we sang the hymns Maker of All Things, Father Hear the Prayer We Offer, and Praise to the Lord, the Almighty. We walked back down the aisle to 'Hey-Ho' by The Lumineers.

We had the marquee we'd hired set up with trestle tables borrowed from our church, and we covered them with mismatched white vintage tablecloths that my mother-in-law Helen had borrowed from relatives and neighbours, and bought from charity shops. Helen also provided all the vases, pots, and glass jars and bottles the flowers went in (she has quite a collection!) All the flowers (including those used in my bouquet) I ordered online from flower wholesaler Triangle Nursery.

They arrived Thursday evening, and my friend Kate and I spent Friday afternoon arranging them all for the table decorations, my bouquet, and the buttonholes for the Groom, Best Man, and parents. That was actually one of the most enjoyable things to do in preparation for the wedding, and surprisingly stress-free!

We had ivory tulle looped over the inside of the marquee roof, and then from the poles we hung strings of paper hearts and birds I'd cut from books and patterned card. The place-names on the tables were the same birds, without their paper wings, on which I'd stamped everyone's names. Our favours for the guests to take home were little jars of loose-leaf tea we'd bought from the Cambridge markets, and again, I'd used book pages tied with raffia to cover the lids.

We hired the chairs and the small brocade love seat Jonny and I sat on for part of the ceremony from The Poppy Trading Company, as I loved the idea of having shabby, mismatched chairs rather than every chair being the same. They had to come a fair way to deliver them, and because the delivery cost was a fair amount, they kindly threw in the loveseat for free!

We had a high-tea reception, with sandwiches and savoury tartlets (made by our caterers Lemon Thyme, all laid out on vintage china (some borrowed, but most hired from Sarah at Vintage Memories, who we also hired the marquee from) and cake-stands, and a dessert table full of cakes, and scones with jam and cream.

We ordered a couple of big cakes from Jo Kruczynska, which were amazing, and had relatives chip in with baking as well. I was so worried there wouldn't be enough food, but in the end I don't think even half of it was eaten!

We booked Daniela as our photographer because she was local, and I liked the look of her work. As part of her wedding package, she offered a free engagement shoot, which was great, as it meant we got to meet and interact with her well before the wedding, and get a glimpse of what our photos might be like!

We were really happy with the engagement shots, so I was able to relax about that aspect, confident that Daniela would do the wedding photography equally well - and she did. She was friendly and unobtrusive, and took so many photos on the day - she captured everything. I particularly love all her candid shots; put together, they really tell the story of the day.
