Today on the blog we have a beautiful wedding from Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, the wedding of Warren and Kyra. Kyra is an Interior Designer from Johannesburg and owns her own freelance company called Kyra.Jade.Interiors and Warren is an architect. Shannon Bradfield Photography captured the day and what a blast this talented photographer had. The couple met while studying and now live in Johannesburg. Their wedding day was a spectacular event! A big blue vintage car and the fallen purple flowers from the Jacaranda Tree's made for a wonderful backdrop for the couple photographs in the quiet streets of Grahamstown. The reception was held at The Highlander. The band "Rough Draft" in which the Father of the Bride was the drummer and the Minister, who married them, played guitar and it made for a wonderful warm family affair and lots of fun. At the end of the evening lanterns where lit and sent off into the night. Enjoy this wedding with us today.

Warren and I have known each other since our first year at University studying Architecture and Interior Design. We met in October of that year and have been together ever since - 9 years later and still so in love! Warren proposed to me on Easter Sunday, in 2011, and it was so unexpected! My parents were visiting us at the time and he had woken up early to prepare a delicious breakfast for all of us...I had no idea what would happen next! He got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of my parents and I said YES! It was so special. We all ended up in tears and I could never have asked for a more beautiful proposal! I am one lucky girl and so in love!

We had the most beautiful wedding day - everything was just perfect! My darling flower girl, Lucy, looked so beautiful and I was so happy to have her by my side. I will never forget the moment when my father came to fetch my in our hired vintage car - I got so teary! My mother looked so beautiful and I will never forget seeing them both, looking at me, with so much love. Warren and I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you to my wonderful parents for all of their effort and love that they put into creating such a stunning wedding! We are forever grateful and love you both dearly.

Butterflies and excitement! I was so happy and just so excited to marry Warren! I found my dream dress and I felt like a princess!

Being an Interior Designer, I decided that I wanted to design my own wedding décor and with the help of my mother and family friends, it turned out to be a great success!

My advice would be to feel beautiful and really enjoy every single moment of your wedding day - taste the food, talk to all of your guests and dance your feet off! Really be in the moment because this day only comes around once in a lifetime!
