I don't even know where to begin with this woodland inspired shoot from A Splendid Occasion and a whole host of talented Chicago creatives.

It's deliciously different, with a rich colour palette of burgundy, coral, peach and gold, a unique, wonderfully woodsy, antler motif, enough gold dipped animals to make a gilded menagerie, and the sweet aroma of freshly baked pies wafting throughout the historic mansion setting.

Featuring a bride in a draped, off the shoulder wedding dress by Winifred Bean for Nearly Newlywed (that we've been obsessing over ever since this post) and the most gorgeously messy up 'do, all topped off with a jaunty feather headpiece! Could this bride get any cooler?

There's also plenty of inspiration for stylish grooms - a killer black velvet jacket with silk lapels, grey tweed waistcoat, dicky bow and oxblood coloured trousers, no less.

Not to mention the fresh, fanciful blooms by Natural Beauties Floral that will steal your heart and make you yearn for an asymmetric rustic, golden branch ceremony backdrop!

Tiffany Siladke, owner, wedding planner and stylist of A Splendid Occasion shares a little more about the inspiration behind the shoot:

I came up with the idea of a woodland couture wedding back in September 2013 and decided to put together a photo shoot that would really depict the time frame between winter and spring, with a splash of high end couture. I wanted the feel of the shoot to be dark and edgy, yet with some light and feminine elements. The details make all of the difference, from the handmade gold animal place card holders to the carefully burned edges of the menus, I believe we hit the mark on unique.
