Seven Days To Fall In Love.

Seven Days To Fall In Love.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Perhaps you do, perhaps you don't. Whatever your thoughts on the matter I promise that you won't fail to be moved by Anissa and Carlo's romantic love story. Honestly folks, it is so dreamy, so perfect that someone really needs to make a movie based on their heady first days together.

We're going a bit off-script this afternoon since usually we post an international wedding rather than an engagement session on a Wednesday but when Alethiea from Xander & Thea Photography sent me this engagement shoot I couldn't resist sharing it with you lovely lot.

Hopefully you won't mind too much, actually I'm prepared to hedge my bets that you'll enjoy it as much as I have especially when you read what Anissa has to say about the seven days during which she and Carlo fell in love.

Got your tissues? Right let's go.

Anissa:We choose Xander & Thea Photography through a friends of ours and when we saw that she be travelling to Italy we decided to go for it and organise a photography shoot! She was perfect because she knew Florence well and picked such a beautiful location for us to visit. We liked how vibrant her images are and they look like they could be in a fashion magazine; we love fashion so this was great! They also capture emotion and precious moments and are shot in really natural way too.

If you are think of getting portraits of you both just do it. It was so fun and relaxing and to have photographs that show our love exactly how it is makes it so much more precious!

We thought long and hard about what we would like to wear for the shoot; something not too hot because Florence is very hot and dry and something that would stand out against the green garden. I was going to wear green dress at first but decided this one would be better in photographs.

We met 5 years ago, I was in my last year of school, it was June 2009 and we had a couple of Scottish exchange students joining our class. I went off with friends to meet them at Palazzo Vecchio for a tour. The wind was blowing a gale and my hair whipped in every direction when I was introduced and confronted with Carlo. As we all listened to the tour guide, I couldn't stop looking at him. Subtlety I kept finding myself glancing over at this boy, there was something about him but he was only staying for seven days. It sounds like a perfect movie right?

Seven days to fall in love! We spent each day together, growing closer to each other, watching the beautiful river Arno flow under the Ponte Vecchio. Our first kiss was...oh what a kiss! I was filled with such joy and yet such sadness as I knew those would be our last few moments together. We promised to keep in touch but deep down I thought a relationship was impossible. Carlo returned to Scotland and as I worked hard to try and forget him, he worked hard at staying in touch. In 2010, he moved to Florence and love exploded in our hearts. I can safely say, with joy, that what we have is the most amazing gift I could ever have from life. Seeing the photos made me so emotional, Alethiea is great, they were amazing, the colours, the moments captured. They show our love exactly how I feel it.
