When it comes to wedding blogging, each author has their own passion. Some would love to be turned loose in Vera Wang's studios, others adore cake tastings, some even like to study flowers. Me? I love paper goods. Give me a great color palette and an on-trend font, and I am one giddy kiddie. So when I saw these terrific little invites, I knew I had to share.

This bright pink and navy nautical invitation manages to be both traditional and modern. It's filled with all the right info using a classic palette, but the font and styling sets it apart from the usual.

Both of these suites incorporate one of my favorite trends of this year: adding a touch of gold. Even if a metallic isn't one of the main colors in your palette, it's fun to add it in small doses, like (above) with a RSVP envelope, or a tiny piece of washi tape (another fave trend). If your palette relies on gold, then you should totally go all out and let your guests know the luxe they can expect to encounter at your wedding! Go wild and fill envelopes with a handful of gold sequins.

You don't see this color combo (above) every day, and I am loving it. Rather than the traditional black, white, and red wedding, this couple has added pale slate blue stripes. That combined with the chalkboard-inspired envelopes makes these invites a perfect fit for 2014.
