Mariam and Fady's engagement story was a real life fairytale. "Mariam loves horses, so I surprised her at my friend's ranch with a horseback ride and proposed to her there", Fady recalls. "I also flew her family in from Egypt and Vancouver to surprise her."

On July 20 ^th, 2013, the couple were joined by family and friends from around the world to celebrate their special day in Vancouver. To honour their Egyptian background, the couple cemented their love in a traditional wedding ceremony at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Their classic but simple reception, which took place at the Fairmont Hotel, was beautifully decorated in cream, gold and a touch of pink. Instead of a traditional seating arrangement, the couple opted for an intimate chaise lounge sweetheart table where they could celebrate together while listening to the heartwarming speeches from their loved ones.
