Hmmmh!!! I had to give a sigh with a huge smile on my face because the story of Bukky and Bem is so interesting. You only wish, it's same for everygirl. Sometimes, I do wish all guys could just be as decisive as Bem, in knowing what they want and going for it without the drama and sometimes pain that often comes along when in a relationship.Prayers did go a long way for both of them too. I am so happy they found eachother!
They are both cute couples and Bukky's choice of peach and champagne color is very appropriate as it softened their light skin tone. A lovely couple, a lovely bride. Bukky is such an enthusiastic and a real girl. She sounded so pleasant and humble when we talked on the phone. I wish they would have a white wedding. It would be one to watch out for! Happy Married Life Bukky and Bem.

How Did You Meet We met at a mutual friend's party in 2011 and it was just a "Hello and Hi" scenario . We bumped into each other again in 2012 at his best friend's party. I nearly didn't attend the party because it fell on a weekday and I was thinking of work the next day. So I grudgingly accepted to attend his party. As soon as I walked in, I saw him but I pretended like I didn't remember the face. On the contrary though ,he remembered my name and was glad to see me again. I pretended like I barely knew him and so he introduced himself again. I remembered he vividly told me 'How come we are not even dating, we should be dating a long time ago'. He took my phone and got my number directly. We kept in touch for a while. At some point in 2012, we got talking every single day and he kept telling me how cute I was. He's always seen me as his wife and when he saw my parents, he made mention of his intentions to marry me which I thought was very good for a man getting to meet my parents for the first time. I was really quite impressed with him
We started dating soon and we both started praying after that putting everything in God's hands. We even asked God for a sign if this wouldn't work but it was going on really well.

Below: Throw back in 2012 when we both met again ( 2nd time) at Bello's party and Bem had said " I should be dating you a long time ago". The dark guy in second picture is Bayo

PROPOSAL Bem said he had to travel to America for a few days, I had asked why the short visit but he mentioned that his intention was to visit his mum. I got a call five days later saying he would be coming back and he wanted me to pick him up at the airport. I was a bit pensive knowing I had to report to work that morning. He promised he would arrive very early and just in time for me to report early to work. So I agreed. It was 7a.m when we arrived back at home and as I laid lazily on the bed, he came and laid beside me saying " Bukky you know I love you and I don't really like formality and all that but I got you something from America and I hope you like it". I was excited thinking he had got me a pair of shoe or perfume, you know. Then I saw his hands in his pocket and at first he was finding it really hard bringing the box out which was quite funny. Then he couldn't open the box as he didn't know where the opening was ( I did have a laugh with that). So yeah! He did struggle with that a bit but here I was thinking okay, maybe it' a pair of earrings or necklace. I would hate being presumptuous and then get disappointed. When I saw the ring, I was so excited, laughing crazily and kept saying "Oh My God" like a hundred times. So I asked that he proposed on one knee just like in everygirl's dream. Bem agreed and decided to kneel on his TWO knees! He said he'll go on two knees for me not just one. He then said " Bukky I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me? I told him there and then that I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him. It was a big YES! Luckily for me the ring was my right fit. He had to pick my sister for the shopping and made a wild guess! lol. The Shoe is Kurt Geiger, Makeup was by Jide of St. Ola , Aso-Oke Fabric ( couple) from Bridal Gallery

Our First Look. We both were excited, it was getting real by the hour!

After all the proposal and acceptance into the family, I became an official TIV woman so I had to change to my BENUE attire of black and white called "Wande Coal serenaded us with his voice as we danced romantically to his beat, one of the best part"- Bukky

Never stop praying. Never stop holding hands with your partner together, on your knees in prayers cos that's where the power is. For the single ones, it's not how soon, it's how well. I would have been married before but only God knows what would have happened now .Our marriage counseling also helped a lot cause we kept recalling what we learnt from the counseling class and for married couples, they shouldn't stop praying even when there's temptations, prayer is the key.
I never really thought you could fall in love or even get married to someone you really love. I thought getting married was just one of the process you go through settling down nothing really special. But I felt different, we were both looking forward to the wedding, I was genuinely happy and excited getting married to the man I am in love with. I sincerely, never believed I could be truly happy especially on my wedding day but I was. It was a truly momentous day for me. Tiwa Savage was there, Wande Coal too! More importantly, getting married to someone who is genuine, kind, God fearing and with a good heart like Bem, it is a blessing! I feel truly blessed and loved.
I had the normal challenges that come with planning a wedding like every bride-to-be would. We went for marriage counseling where we were taught to prepare for these challenges. So yeah, we had issues on venue location and all that but aside that, I had the privilege of choosing my colors and making other decisions ( of course with Bem's knowledge and blessings) . We also had a planner called ARIN who formerly worked for Oken events. So planning was a bit easy. My mum and my junior sister were of great help too. Bem was also helpful with his support emotionally. As long as I was happy with what I wanted, he was happy to go ahead.

" We had to do this in honor of my late dad, Mr Ibrahim Kolawale Shonibare. This meant a lot to me so we had to incorporate that into the traditional ceremony "-Bukky

"I feel truly blessed joining a family who truly loves me and accepted me without hesitation"- Bukky.

Thank you E ikonWorld for these captivating pictures and for sharing! Please wish this beautiful couple a well deserved happy married life. Happy Friday!
