The Spring Green Issue: The Details

Written by: louise

There's been so much love already for our latest Style Guide! Spring Green is a celebration of the freshness of the season, and it seems you're all loving this clean & contemporary take on the rustic look! If you missed it, you can discover the décor and styling in last week's post, while today we zoom in on the details.

Let's begin with this stunning cascading bouquet... our amazing b.team florist Liz from Bluesky Flowers and her assistant Sarah from The Flower Bird created an explosion of green and white! Clouds of hydrangea, phlox, veronica and super floaty asparagus fern gathered together to make one massive puff of loveliness!

They also created a cascade of matching foliage and flowers to adorn our cake from the talented Ceri at Olofson Design. An updated spin on the naked cake that was so popular last year, this cake design uses a thin mask of buttercream to allow the lovely edges of the cake layers to show through. A light Italian meringue buttercream masked the outside, which also has the benefit of lightening the overall look and keeps the cake moister inside. Decorated with simple green foliage, artfully placed, it still has real impact without being overly fussy. To reflect the feeling of lightness and Spring time mood the colours are fresh but can be changed to reflect seasonality, the cake used soft flavours of almond sponge with pistachio and apricot filling.

Catharine at Itty Bitty Bijou created a simple stationery design complete with fern motif in keeping with the light & fresh look. She says

"I loved the delicate foliage and ferns which Louise used in her concept for this look as well as the colour palette of fresh greens with bright white and rustic hints. I wanted to create a bespoke sketch of the Ferns and Bracken for the Stationery designs to really link in with this key element of the shoot. I took my drawings and with my magical computer graphics skills, I created a small illustration and a pretty pattern. I have included this available as a free Printable too! Using clean, simple fonts let the illustrations stand out but these designs would look great handwritten if you would like to DIY your own invitations, table numbers etc too!"
