Happy Monday Lovely People!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and the weather was kind to you. It's gorgeous sunshine again here today which is perfectly suited to the gorgeous wedding we have to share with you.

Caroline and Glenn married at St Mildred's Church in Tenterden followed by their reception at Caroline's parent's house. Their vision for the day was to have a 'Wedding Festival' that combined an eclectic vintage theme with a British festival feel. It was inspired by their love of hog roasts and British eccentricity.

They used this theme throughout and the result gave their wedding a slightly vintage psychedelic feel! Think lots of colours and lots of patterns.

Over to Caroline and Glenn.....

The dress was 'Elizabeth' from Phase Eight; gold 'vintage' shoes from a collection at Next; Veil, Haircomb and my rings were all handmade from designers on Etsy website. My gold charm bracelet was vintage.

I had seen the dress whilst my sister-in-law was planning her wedding. The dress stayed in my mind until Glenn and I got engaged. I only went to one dress shop before I knew the vintage elegance and simplicity of the dress were prefect for our wedding.

Our Maid of Honour was Caroline's best friend from school and our other beautiful bridesmaids were Caroline's sister-in-law and Glenn's sister. Bridesmaids wore champagne coloured silk wrap dresses from Mango. We were also really fortunate to have 3 gorgeous usherettes: Sarah Matthews; Sam Hughes; Jenny Matthews.

Our flowers were rom 'Flower craft workshop' in Tenterden - an amazing little place with really helpful staff. There were four main roses (Dolce Vita, Cuba Libre, Heaven and our fave Miss Piggy) which went into all the bouquets and buttonholes. The reception flowers were arranged by Caroline's mum.

We only gave ourselves 7 months for planning, so we needed to have a tight concise vision and theme. We were lucky that the venues were easily found, the reception was held at Caroline's parent's house where she had grown up and the wedding was at the local church. We made sure all the important things were booked during January which gave us 6 months to concentrate on the details. The last month was crazy; together with family and friends we built the 2 marquees and installed the carpet, dance floor, lighting, furniture and decorations.

Unique DIY ideas were key to the wedding, everything was designed and handmade by Caroline (with a little help from a friend or 2). We wanted to put a twist on conventional ideas and come up with a unique festival feel: champagne cork place names, festival table names, favour bags with mini blackboards, ice cream smelling bubbles, British table trivia games, beautiful but quirky handmade bunting, festival poster table planner - the list is endless. We carried the heart motif throughout all the designs and kept strictly to our colour theme (pink, coral, orange, yellow). We made sure outside the marquee was just as fun, with hay bales, kid's tepee with games, signposts, ribbon decorations and more bunting.

Our amazing, talented friend and usherette Sarah Matthews made the wedding cake. We had vanilla, lemon and strawberry cupcakes with a fruit cake top tier. Sarah handmade all the decorations including the top tier, we were so pleased with the mini Caz and Glenn (and our little ratties Eric and Bill).

Do as much as you can in advance, you will not believe how fast the last month goes. Keep tight to your theme; brainstorm and 'google' until you come up with the best idea. Remember to enjoy every moment; enjoy all the preparation and 'crafting', and on the day make sure you take it all in - look around and soak in the memories.
