This month Kirsty has been busy crafting away at her gorgeous DIY wedding invitations, beautiful craft paper creations with the sweetest touches. She has some great advice if you are thinking of DIYing yours too. So exciting!! XOXO Lou

Hello everyone, I trust you all managed to get through the month of January and I'm sure weekend wedding planning distractions were very welcome with the pennies fast running out!

I've been using my evenings and weekends, designing, printing and making the wedding invites (much more time consuming than I first anticipated). I used inspiration from pinterest (of course!) of package style invites and went from there to make them more personal to our day. They consisted of the following:

The invites are made up of a main invitation card, wedding information with map and local accommodation on the reverse side as well as an RSVP card (although I'm not expecting many people to reply with it as it's so small!). We also ordered and stamped some tags to add a bit more texture and colour to the invites and attached a teeny tiny key to symbolise the key to the 'secret garden' element to the day. When I say 'we', I do have some evidence here of Steve actually helping to stamp the tags!

They were pretty fiddly to put together so patience was really a virtue! For the envelopes, I used floral wallpaper on the inside to add some more colour and a bit of a surprise when you open it up. Here is the finished product:

We are continuing the secret garden floral theme through to the wedding day itself by having some keys dangling from ribbon around the pergola where we will cut the wedding cake.

I'm getting really excited now with just over 4 months to go and have started buying honeymoon clothes in the sales! Are honeymoon clothes even a thing? Is anyone else doing the same or am I just going a bit mad?!

I'd never thought about having a wedding day perfume either until I read the recent feature on WWW so am thinking I might splurge on a nice fragrance for the big day, any suggestions would be very welcome as I usually wear perfume that costs £12!

This month I will be working on table decorations, all to be revealed in my next post and also picking up my wedding dress, eek! Oh and before I go, top tip for invitation budgeting...don't forget to include the cost of stamps!!!

Kirsty x
