Kate Middleton inspired wedding dress for Toulouse wedding

Happy Valentine's Day! It is a joyous occasion that I get to share a wedding where the bride was inspired by a real life fairytale, the wedding of William and Kate. Taking inspiration from the royal occasion, today's bride with the help of a trusty French dressmaker created a Kate Middleton inspired wedding dress for her wedding near Toulouse in the South of France.

It is a beautiful wedding dress and I love the lace detailing on the cover and sleeves, I am sure that Kate would approve!

We looked for ideas on the internet and found a lot such as the tree for the bride and groom table, the candy weddingcake... We were always looking for ideas that could fit with our personality. I decided not to try and wedding dresses on, as in September 2012, we went directly to see the dressmaker who made my mother wedding dress, 20 years ago, and who was still my grandmother everyday dressmaker : Madame Germaine Bacquié. She had never see a bride who hadn't tried any other dress before ! She asked me what I liked and I told her Kate Middelton's wedding dress... Thanks to Germaine, my dress was made with lace coming from the same place than Kate's. For my husband, I was quite worried : he is very tall and I asked him to search for his attire very early. Finally, he found it only two months before in Kenzo. My best advice is to trust your friends and family to get the most of your wedding day. However they aren't a planner so don't be entirely trusting in them, in my case, my mother and best friends completely forgot my bouquet ! Still, enjoy your day : even the more beautiful wedding won't be successful if nobody had fun. My second best advice is to hire a videographer. Pictures and films are so important, don't limit yourself with it. It's priceless to being able to watch our wedding film. It makes us cry every time !

The lovely bride takes us through their special day: " We chose that location quite rapidly. We had over 300 people to invite and near Toulouse there were only so many wedding locations that could accommodate us. The domaine de Preissac answered our requirements : close to Toulouse, with seats for 300 people for dinner though with a dancing floor!

The best moment for us was our entrance for dinner. We choose a French Caribbean music and everybody danced. Nobody wanted to eat, they were all waiting for the party to begin ! "

What a beautiful dress! Is anyone else having their wedding dress custom made?
