That's How Strong My Love Is.

I always feel a flutter of excitement whenever I share a wedding that has taken place at Iscoyd Park. Perhaps it's because it's where I married my boy so it will always have a very special place in my heart or maybe it's because it's just such a beautiful, harmonious, tranquil place and this vibe is embodied in all of the big days that take place there.

Regardless Ross and Jennie's 'Country Garden' themed do is no exception. For starters I'm liking Jennie's Charlie Brear dress very much indeed - the most perfectly flattering frock for her baby bump. Yep Jennie is radiant as both a blushing bride and a mummy to be too!

Secondly I am in awe of Jennie's make-up application skills... radiant skin, cat flick eyes and pinky pout a-plenty here!

And then there's Billy - the most dashing Page Boy I think these pages have seen. I think you'll agree folks that his outfit is EPIC.

Come on let's go and partake in a cream tea or two and be serenaded on the lawn...

Jennie The Bride:Our venue was Iscoyd Park on the North Wales/Shropshire border. It was the first venue we visited & fell in love with straight away. It is a beautiful privately owned family home and ticked all the boxes with its warmth, character and charm. The staff were amazing - so many of our guests commented on this and they really couldn't do enough to help us.

My dress was a gorgeous 1960′s sand-washed ivory silk gown by the amazing Charlie Brear which I customised with lace butterfly sleeves and a silk sash. On the big day I was nearly four months pregnant however it hugged my bump beautifully whilst still nipping me in at the waist. I accessorised with a floor length lace edged Charlie Brear veil that I knew as soon as I tried it it had to be mine. Both of these were purchased at a Vintage Wedding Dress Comp event at The White Closet in Didsbury, Manchester. The girls in this stunning shop are top of their game and make you feel so welcome.

My trusty hair stylist Liz Wilson from Hair Matters produced my 60′s updo with a slight beehive complete with my Marie Canning hair pins pushed through the back. They were bespoke ceramic roses, with a flash of blush, blue & rose gold on the petals.

I decided to do my own make-up since I still wanted to look like me on my big day and found the professional make-up far too much for me. I used mostly Bobbi Brown products, but found my perfect lip colour from Laura Mercier called Nectarine. It was a nudey peachy tone which went great with my 60′s flick eyes.

My shoes were from French Connection; nude with blue snakeskin heel. I had earrings and a bracelet made by Marie Canning again with a slight pop of colour.

My maid of honour Zoe wore a fab dress by Warehouse. It mirrored my lace sleeves which I loved and the colour harmonised perfectly. It was classed as mink but was more of a blush/mauve. My other two bridesmaids were teenagers so I wanted them to look their age. Their dresses were lace 60′s shift dresses in ivory with flat ballet shoes.

My son Billy was page boy. Again I wanted him to be comfy since I knew he would be tearing round the gardens having fun later on. I found a great outfit from Zara consisting of a linen oatmeal jacket, a herringbone linen waistcoat and a dark grey linen trouser. I finished off his look with a bow tie by Moaning Minnie in a tweed mustard. He looked so smart.

Ross' suit was from Reiss, it was Air force Blue which looked timeless and sharp. It worked so well with his yellow Drakes tie from Mr Porter. He asked his grooms to wear a navy suit of their choice and we got them all matching gold/yellow ties and Paul Smith socks.

The ceremony was the one part of the wedding that I was most nervous about. The thought of everyone turning round during the grand entrance, the nights I'd spent dreaming I'd tripped on my dress. It was nothing like I imagined... Rolling Stones 'Shes a Rainbow' was our song of choice for me to walk down the aisle. We love the Stones and wanted it all to reflect us as a couple!! When I reached Ross we were both quite emotional and giddy. It was such a lovely ceremony, the registrar knew Ross from being young and she was such a fun bubbly character and had our guests laughing!!

For the reception we asked our friends who run a Northern Soul/Motown/Funk night to come and DJ, the fact they use all vinyl records made all the more special. Our first dance was to Otis Redding - That's How Strong My Love Is; it's such a lovely song and the lyrics really meant something to us. Towards the end of the song Billy joined in with us, it's was one of the only moments we got to spend as just the three of us (and bump).

With the theme of the wedding being 'Country Garden' we thought a three course wedding breakfast wasn't going to fit in with the general feel of the day so we decided to have afternoon tea. It worked perfectly, everyone seemed to really enjoy it and it made for a very fun and laid back atmosphere. We hired vintage crockery from Shropshire Vintage who did an absolutely amazing job. Our drinks package for the tables included Pimms, bottles of beer and table wine. Ross' mum made the wedding cake which looked and tasted fab. For the evening reception we hired a gourmet burger van who provided handmade steak burgers topped with Stilton or brie... this was a big hit with our guests!

For place names we tied heart shaped luggage tags to vintage tea cups and for the table plan we used a suitcase provided by Shropshire Vintage with guests' names printed onto decorative card.

We'd also like to give a special mention to our photographer Claire Penn who really did do an amazing job. After a few friends recommended Claire we decided to meet up with her, we instantly felt at ease with her and she completely understood what we wanted from our wedding photos. Looking back at the photo's she managed to capture the atmosphere of the day perfectly.
