Happy Monday everyone! We’ve had an extremely busy weekend shooting with Theresa Furey Photography on a beach in Dorset. We were prepared for whatever the October UK weather was going to throw at us but we we’re certainly not prepared for the mini heatwave and soaring temperatures! People in bathing suits on the beach in October? In the UK? Yep! Couldn’t have asked for anything better and loved every minute of working with our team that pulled together in the space of 48hrs. You can follow us on Instagram for sneak peeks of what went down…

While we get back in the swing of things, we’ve got a perfectly romantic outdoor wedding from photographer Sara Hasstedt today. The details in this wedding have a real infusion of the traditional, rustic and memorable. Just check out that ceremony aisle! Erin and Brad had a desire for a rustic Colorado celebration whilst their personal touches and the result is elegant and feminine with a bucket load of class.

From Sara: “Erin  & Brad’s destination wedding was filled with elegance and romance. Their details were beautifully crafted by a talented team who was able to make Erin’s feminine and whimsical vision a reality. And of course for me, there is nothing quite as breathtaking as an evening wedding on a Colorado mountaintop…”

From the Bride… Brad and I wanted a romantic outdoor wedding with a casual elegance. By blending some traditional elements with ones that spoke to our own personalities, we were able to capture that rustic beauty of the mountains and the more personal elements of our relationship and history as a couple. What we ended up with was a very special and meaningful celebration that was intimate and fun. From the ceremony to the reception, Brad and I stayed true to who we are, and that balance created a gorgeous and memorable wedding. While we had a minister officiate, I wrote the entire ceremony, and we wrote our own vows. I walked down the aisle to the instrumental music “Cosmic Love” by Florence and the Machine, and our processional music was Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida.” Also, our readers read a more “untraditional” passage and a poem that reflected Brad and myself in a unique way.

Throughout the reception, Brad and I added personal touches to the natural, romantic setting that was beautifully constructed by our florist, Lauryl Lane, and wedding planner, Frosted Pink Weddings. Long, wooden banquet tables helped create a rustic feel, and gorgeous white, pink, and plum colored flowers cascading from candelabras and vintage glass vases dotted the tables. Our table numbers were actual photographs taken by Brad in Chicago. And I designed and hand-drew our guest book-which was whimsical and interactive for our guests. To add a romantic ambiance and to ensure that our guests could linger and dance into the night, we scattered candle lanterns above the tables and hung festival lights above the dance floor. Our tent had a clear top, which allowed the natural light to shine through, and the night sky to serve as a natural backdrop to the evening festivities. The lanterns were of varying sizes and hung in bunches, which allowed for a warm, diffused effect, while the festival lights added a magical energy.

As music lovers, live music was crucial, but we wanted some thing in keeping with the wedding – something that wouldn’t dominate but rather would blend perfectly with the surroundings. We found that in the stunning band ensemble The Fever. They played songs that appealed to all ages and musical preferences. They were a focal point without distracting, and encouraged nonstop dancing throughout the night.
