If you haven’t heard of the latest Fad stew buzzing the whole world right now then you should be thanking me for introducing you to a very merry stew aside the red tomato and pepper stew we’ve always known all our lives. I am talking of the Ayamashe stew. It’s different, taste fantastic to the buds and God knows it makes you want to eat and eat Ofada rice forever. So! I have decided, unashamedly to declare my love for this stew that is so easy to make, it’s unbelievable.  I got an easy to do steps in making one from  Spicebaby cause she’s got original pictures which I am sharing but with explanation from yours truly.

These are the ingredients: ( To Serve 4)

5 large green bell peppers 2 large onion bulbs Minimum of 4 scotch bonnet or small peppers/habanero/jamaican peppers Pre-boiled meats – Tripe or shaki , cowleg, cow skin ( Kpomo) recommended Garlic Locust Beans Vegetable oil Palm oil Favorite Seasoning – stock cube & seasoning salt recommended STEP 1

Cut your Green peppers to fit in your blender, add peppers, onions and garlic then blend.

Step 2

After blending, just pour in a pot. I like using deep frying pan just makes stiring and the whole chef thing…. okay.. yeah.. just pour and add  a little vegetable oil and let it boil. Keep the fire at medium now. You can add your stock cube and salt at this stage. Stir and leave for a while.

STEP 3

While this is happening, fry or grill your cowmeat but boil your kpomo and shaki ( Tripe) before frying lightly.

 STEP 4

Stir the stew mixture and wait till it gets a bit dry. Then Bleach fry your  palm oil+ Vegetable oil ( you know how we do it) Add this to the stew mixture ( am not sure why but PLEASE DO NOT POUR THE BLEACHED OIL TO THE STEW WHILE HOT) Allow the bleached oil to get cooled off then add to the stew boiling.

STEP 5

You can add your meat, kpomo, Shaki, Cowleg.. everything you wish to add now and also your locustbean s( local maggi) then allow to boil for some time.

IF YOUR STEW HAS CHANGED COLOR TO BROWN then you have achieved your food goal..(DRUMROLL)

Ayamashe stew looks like the one on the bottom left.. Boiled eggs were included in this one.

Serve with Rice better with OFADA RICE tho..!!xx

**Note** If the oil is too much, which most time it is, just drain off**
