b.team Takeover: My 5 Favourite Stationery Trends

via

Hi All! I’m Catharine of Itty Bitty & Bijou – the Stationery contributor of the b.loved b.team and today we are talking trends in wedding stationery. We have some beautiful examples to inspire you too! From romantic watercolours and rustic kraft paper to bright geometric patterns! We’ll also be talking about the statement seating plan and it is becoming a key piece of wedding décor too!

The illustrative trend is huge at the moment and as our examples show, the illustrations within the stationery can be beautiful borders ( floral illustrations are very popular ) or perhaps images relevant to you and your wedding’s style – such as portraits. Illustrative text can be beautiful all on it’s own or with a border/image. Modern calligraphy and fonts which look hand written are also fantastic used with this look.

The watercolour trend is utterly romantic and looks great as a background, illustration or image paired with either modern clean fonts or exquisite calligraphy. This is perfect for wedding styles which are sophisticated, whimsical and need a little splash of colour.

This is my favourite trend at the moment where stationery crosses over to decor, with the seating plan becoming a key feature of the wedding  decor, a talking point, statement and something to remember! Make it unique, bespoke and think outside the box – every wedding guest sees the table plan when looking where they will be seated so why not make it stand out! These examples are fantastic – they make a statement whilst being beautiful, tasteful, fitting within the wedding’s style and of course they do their job! Take care not to go with a seating plan that is so different that your guests’ find it too difficult to use and find their tables!

With this trend you’ll see repeated patterns, images and shapes with harsh edges, vivid colours and even neon! With the explosion of geometric styled weddings of course this would include stationery. The stationery itself has however started to creep into wedding styles which are also more indie, and even minimalist! These geometric and bright coloured style of stationery are often printed on beautiful clean white for extra impact.

You’ll find kraft paper and card stock being used in a range of ways within wedding stationery at the moment – from the invitation itself to lovely labels and tags as well as the packaging and presentation of the stationery too. As the examples show, the Kraft trend can look great with just black or white ink printed on to it and if you need some colour just add one tone. The kraft trend lends itself to the illustrative trend too and beautiful calligraphy. It instantly creates a rustic feel but is great for a range of wedding styles.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration today! Don’t forget to come back all week as the b.loved b.team fill you in on all the latest trends for weddings!
