On Saturday 31st August 2013 Laura and I went down to the woods to enjoy a very special and intimate Festival ‘In the Woods’. It’s our 2nd time at this festival and we are no strangers to the site as we look after the woodland weddings there!! It is the most beautiful place for a festival / woodland wedding.. It’s understated charm and beauty makes it the best kept secret in Kent!!

‘In the Woods’ Festival is a brilliant showcase for the coolest,on the cusp of hugeness, bands and acts!! You don’t go to this festival to see the big bands, instead you can be sure to hear the next best thing on the musical scene and sometimes next years mercury prize winner!! Curated by some very in the know music industry people, this festival offers something totally creative in the most chilled festival environment we know… This year didn’t disappoint, with acts like Drenge, Young Fathers, Marika Hackman, Sivu, and headliner for Friday night Lianne La Havas!! Don’t just take our word for it as this festival has just won ‘BEST INDEPENDENT FESTIVAL’ at the Aim Awards!!

This year the festival ran from Friday evening until Sunday which meant festival goers had even longer to enjoy the beautiful surrounding and chill out a little more than usual. They were entertained by the ITW cinema, the silent disco, sports day activities, a pub quiz and speed dating!! Because of bump we actually spent a lot of time in The Spinney listening to poetry and the spoken word.. We really enjoyed PoeJazzi!!
