Voted Scotland’s Best Unusual Venue at the 2012 Scottish Event Awards, Bogbain Farm is personal, quirky, attentive, independent, and sometimes downright whacky!

Bogbain is based only 3 miles south of Inverness on the A9.  It’s convenient location means access is easy from anywhere in the country, but it also has oodles of Highland charm, and stunning views across the Moray Firth. The venue can cater for 120 guests for a meal and up to 250 for the evening dance but there is also ample space for a marquee outside.

Bogbain allows complete flexibility for anyone coming in to hire the venue for a wedding (the venue recently hosting a Harley Davidson themed wedding!)  Couples are invited to go wild with their imagination and the staff more than happy to help them as far as possible in achieving that.  Painting walls, creating new spaces, adapting existing rooms is all part of what keeps the venue fresh and relevant for everyone that comes through the doors.  The beauty of Bogbain is not only the authenticity and the charm, but also the flexibility and support offered.

The buildings are largely as they were 100 years ago with cobbled floors and stonewalls encasing the Bar area. The venue comprises of three sections – The Byre, The Bothy and The Barn. The Byre is the hub of the venue featuring the all-important Saloon bar and the peat fired stove. The Barn, The Bothy, the toilets and the outdoor areas all branch off from here. The Bothy can seat 120 guests comfortably to allow guests to enjoy their meal (a popular choice is the hog roast!)

The barn provides the perfect place for both a beautifully intimate wedding ceremony and to dance the night away. Festoon lighting hangs and the walls are lit in pink.  The Barn stage is made out of Harris Tweed, the walls still have evidence of the old mill that used to operate there and the canopy of fairy lights hangs from the rafters to finish the vibe.

Outside, the farm is adorned with beautifully restored antique farm machinery and acres upon acres of green looking over the city of Inverness. The semi-covered area provides shelter for the wedding party to spill out into the night and a perfect vantage point to enjoy the beautiful views of the Moray Firth and Black Isle.

Venue hire starts from £2500.00 plus VAT and includes exclusive use of the whole venue for 2 days, all lighting including fairy lights and colour washes on barn walls, tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery, linen, chair covers, staff, cleaning, firewood for the stove and PA & Mic for speeches.
