I have to apologise for the feature we have for you today. Any usual filtration of images went out the window- I really just wanted to put ALL the photos in. Really this wedding is magnificent as they come (“magnificent” and “mountain” very narrowly escaped being in the title together, I must have been a little distracted by the images.. ahem). Antonela and Darko got married in Engleberg in Switzerland. They had been inseparable since meeting in a cafe ten years ago and both knew they wanted to travel somewhere really special for their wedding celebration. And boy did they hit the jackpot.

“It was love at first sight for us. We got engaged the night Darko surprised me with a Tiffany engagement ring over a romantic candlelit dinner. For the wedding we wanted to travel to a special place, away from home and work. Somewhere we didn’t walk past every day! A place to go for our anniversaries to make them really special. Since we organised the wedding ourselves, the challenge was to bring everything together and make it work. We got very familiar with wedding blogs and attended a few wedding fairs. We also crossed fingers that the weather would stay fine, as it’s never a safe bet in Switzerland. The style we went for was simple- we didn’t decide on a colour scheme as such but ended up with delicate, harmonious pastel shades. Since the church we picked was so sumptuous we kept ceremony decor to a minimum as not much was needed. There was a good bit of DIY involved- a friend lent us the wedding car and a cousin acted as videographer. For me, the most memorable moment was definitely seeing Darko at the altar for the first time. It was a fabulous day and we really wouldn’t change anything if we had the chance. It was important for us to do the wedding our way, so if we had any advice for future couples it would just be to stick to your guns and don’t be influenced by anyone else!”

I want to be in Switzerland and yes, I’ll take PJ Photos with me please. I’ve been so excited since we saw this wedding and just couldn’t wait to share it- what an amazing country Switzerland is.
