STYLED SHOOT | SOMETHING BLUE

STYLED SHOOT | SOMETHING BLUE

via

We’ve got something a little different for you today on our road trip, we’re heading to Denmark, and showcasing a styled shoot that’s the work of  We Do Weddings, a creative collective of photographers, designers and stylists formed to shake things up in the Danish wedding industry.

The group set themselves a challenge, interpreting each of the lines from the ‘something old, something new…’ wedding tradition.

‘Something blue’ became a shoot based around the idea of a couple who throw a surprise backyard wedding, inviting their friends to an intimate party that turns into a wedding celebration. The relaxed affair, styled by Brittany Watson Jepsen (of the blog The House That Lars Built), has a cosy bohemian feel and was captured by two different photographers, the first of which was Lina Ahnoff…

We can’t think  of a sweeter way to plan a low key wedding than just inviting your closest friends and family to an intimate ‘spur-of-the-moment’ celebration.

So, let’s see how photographer Amanda Thomsen captured the day…

We love the bride’s short retro veil and short chambray dress.

A wedding cake shaped piñata!! Such a great idea for keeping kids (old and young alike!) entertained during the reception.

What say you dear readers? Would you throw a surprise wedding? Would you keep it small and intimate, or go big withe surprise and theatrics?!

Dresses by Elefteria, Craft making and styling by Brittany from The House that Lars Built, Make-up & Hair by May Naes,
Photography by Lina Ahnoff and Amanda Thomsen, Models Elisabeth & Jonas.
