6 Wedding Hair Do’s and Don’ts

bridal hairstylesIf you’ve ever watched Bridezillas, or Four Weddings, you know that sometimes wedding planning can bring out the ugly in brides. Between the event details, the guests, the beauty preparations, and, you know, the fact that you’re making a monumental life decision, it’s no wonder some brides get a little frazzled before their grand entrance. To help you check one bridal concern off your checklist, we caught up with Celebrity Hairstylist Tommy Buckett, from Serge Normant Salon, who offered his simple, fuss-free commandments for perfect wedding day hair.

“Do look like yourself, just the best version of you.

Don’t change your hair’s texture—like a crazy perm or relaxer—or try a new color days before the big day.

Do wear your hair clean and soft and not too editorial looking. My favorite is a chignon, soft waves, or anything that looks romantic.

Don’t put in extensions that are much longer than your own hair. Just add extensions for fullness or to make your bun or ponytail photograph better.

Do lots of conditioning treatments before your big day if your hair is colored or dry.

Don’t micro-manage everything that day. Step back and tell yourself that today will be smooth and the show will not go on without me.”

Advice served straight-up, just the way we like it. Planning your own wedding? What hairstyle are you considering?
